5 Days of Action to Celebrate the 35th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade!

We are quickly approaching the 35th Anniversary of Roe V. Wade which occurs next Tuesday, January 22nd. Have you figured out how you are going to celebrate?
In honor of the 35th Anniversary, the Minnesota Choice Coalition's member organizations are sponsoring events for 5 days leading up to January 22nd, the actual anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision. We sincerely hope that you will join us for one of these exciting events!
Day One: Reading and Book Signing with Jessica Valenti; Friday, January 18th at 2pm
Midwest Health Center for Women sponsors this exciting event. Jessica Valenti will speak about her experience with feminist blogging and read from her book, Full Frontal Feminism. Books available for purchase. Freeman Commons at the Humphrey Institute for Public Affairs, U of M, 301 19th Ave. S.
Day Two: Live Art and Concert Event; Saturday, January 19th from 7pm-11pm
NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota is hosting a live art and concert event in the Vine Arts Center, located in the Ivy Arts Building, 2637 27th Ave. S., Minneapolis. Watch new, exciting art be created while listening to your favorite cover tunes from 1973 until today. Drinks and snacks will be served. For further information call (651) 602-7655
Day Three: Film and Discussion Night; Sunday, January 20th from 2-4:30pm
The Minnesota Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice will show the film From Danger to Dignity which documents the history of the Clergy Consultation Service, a group of 1400 clergy around the country who helped women obtain safe abortions from 1967-1973. The film will be followed by a panel discussion which will include a provider and a clergy person who was part of the original Clergy Consultation Service. Day Four: Join the Coalition Delegation at the Martin Luther King Jr. March; January 21st at 10:30am
Volunteers are asked to meet at 10:30am after the rally by the tennis court gates at Central High School in St. Paul. Look for the MN Choice Coalition sign. For more information call Leah at (612) 332-2311
Day Five: Legislative Preview Session; Tuesday, January 22nd from 6-8pm.
Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota invites all pro-choice activists and supporters to come to our clinic and hear about our legislative agenda for 2008. While 2007 was a great year at the Capitol, we still have a lot of work to do, and we need your help!
