Oh, Bill, you’re so right—-how could have I been so dumb? Stupid Stupid me, for thinking that even though 98% of women use some method of birth control at some point in their lives and that women spend 68% more in out-of-pocket health care costs than men, in part because of reproductive health-related supplies and services, that there should be some kind of equity in health insurance coverage.
Oh wait, that’s right. I’m not dumb. And neither is Planned Parenthood for making a completely justified argument.
Bill, if you want to play the whole “Birth control is a choice” game, well let’s just say you lose. Birth control is often prescribed to treat many medical issues as well. And come to think of it, it seems like you could probably argue that using Viagra is a choice too—just don’t have sex, right?
In all seriousness, the point is that BOTH men and women should have access to the tools they need to control their own reproduction and sexuality. Not just men.

What stupid idiots you are. Birth control is covered by Insurance companies when it is prescribed for a medical condition. I know my daughter is on birth control for acne. Birth control is giving free to many at the county health nurse offices.
Bill is exactly right!!!!!!

67Firebird, that is not necessarily true. Maybe your health insurance does cover birth control, but many do not - and the point of the reporter’s question in the clip is what John McCain thinks about those that DON’T cover birth control but DO cover Viagra.
Bill is not right - I could simply turn his question around: why should I, as a taxpayer, have to pay for anyone’s Viagra? Bill claims it’s because it’s a “medical condition?” How is erectile dysfunction any more a medical condition than preventing pregnancy? Controlling a woman’s hormones so she doesn’t ovulate (and therefore, get pregnant or get acne or have debilitating cramps, whatever) sounds pretty medically related to me.
Bill’s just trying to equate birth control - a necessary health item for many women, including your daughter, for many reasons - with women wanting free sex, those hussies. We all know that women having sex is BAD and there should be no birth control so we would all know the CONSEQUENCES of our slutty behavior. (/sarcasm)
It’s just so ironic that the covered item (Viagra) is even MORE explicitly for having sex. It’s just that in O’Reilley’s world, men are allowed to have sex whenever they want, and women aren’t. Would you like me to buy you dinner before you use your taxpayer-funded Viagra, Mr. O’Reilley?

bill o’reilley has always been a hateful asshole so this really is no surprise.
as a woman without health insurance, no 67firebird, birth control is NOT given out free. you still have to pay $28-40 PER MONTH for it.
people of this opinion who are so quick to force their opinions on others should have to foot the bill for these same other’s birth control options or pay child support.
