PLANNED PARENTHOOD MOVING FROM HIGHLAND PARK NEIGHBORHOOD, OPENING NEW HEADQUARTERS IN ST. PAUL

Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota (PPMNS) is proud to announce the construction of a flagship health care center and administrative headquarters building in St. Paul.

“This is an exciting new chapter in our 82 year history, and it’s made possible entirely by the generosity of our many donors and supporters, who for generations have trusted us to provide quality, affordable and confidential health care services,” said PPMNS President and CEO Sarah Stoesz.

The state-of-the-art, LEED-certified building will be located just off the Central Corridor at Charles and Vandalia streets and is slated to be completed in December 2011. The building is designed as a 46,000 square foot, three story structure with a planned future fourth floor of office space. The building will house community education and administrative offices and a full-service reproductive health care clinic.

It will offer patients a comfortable and secure environment for the excellent care they have come to expect from Planned Parenthood. And it will allow PPMNS to streamline its operations in a more accessible location while bringing activity and vitality to the Central Corridor. The Highland Park clinic will remain open until the new location is completed in 2011.

For more than 80 years, PPMNS has proudly served the heart of our region. Fully 95% of our services are preventive, including birth control and information to prevent unintended pregnancy, cancer screenings, STI testing and treatment, and preconception care. We offer comprehensive, affordable health care and a variety of evidence-based, age-appropriate, and culturally responsive sex education programs for women, men, teens, and parents. PPMNS is a leading provider of essential reproductive health care services for all Minnesotans. In the past year alone, PPMNS has served more than 60,000 Minnesotans in need of affordable health care through 25 clinics across the state.

“We have been an established and respected member of this community since 1928 and we are here to stay,” Stoesz said. “We make Minnesota healthier, and we look forward to continuing a tradition of commitment to community in our new location.”
