NPR has a good little overview of how vastly different John McCain and Barack Obama are on the issue of choice. The story covers both candidates positions as well as some of the recent missteps they’ve taken on pro-choice issues recently.

Abortion isn't the biggest issue in the presidential campaign, but in states where the election is close, it can be the difference between winning and losing.

True. In battleground states, 51% of women voters had no ideas about McCain’s positions on women’s reproductive health issues.  And when they were informed about McCain’s anti-women’s health record, over 35% of them indicate that they were less likely to vote for McCain. Even though it’s not the “biggest” issue, it is clear that knowing which candidate supports reproductive rights can make a BIG difference.
