Rally for Health Care Reform with President Obama!

September 10, 2009 9:58:15

You’ve probably heard that this Saturday, September 12th President Obama will be at the Target Center in Minneapolis to discuss health care reform.  ALL EYES WILL BE ON MINNESOTA AND WE WANT THEM TO SEE PINK!

Planned Parenthood is asking our supporters and activists to attend the event at the Target Center and wear a bright pink t-shirt emblazoned with the phrase “Health Care for EVERY Community”.

The details and logistics are still in the works—much of that will depend on how many of YOU will be there!  So, contact Sally at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  or (612) 821-6164 ASAP if you can attend!  Once we’ve got an idea of our numbers, we’ll designate a place to meet before the event (doors open at 9:30am) and give everyone a t-shirt.

There are no tickets for this event, and seating is first-come, first-serve.  We plan to be there early and do our best to get into line together for this historic event.

Contact Sally at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  or (612) 821-6164 ASAP if you can spend this Saturday rallying for health care reform and for Planned Parenthood!

Thank you all so much for your continued support and enthusiasm—like President Obama said in his speech last night “I still believe we can do great things”—with your help this Saturday, we can let the President know that Planned Parenthood and the state of Minnesota are ready and willing to help.

STAY CONNECTED

I couldn’t agree more. Health Care needs to be available to everyone in every community. I couldn’t stand watching John McCain this morning talking about how he agrees with the president that the “illegal aliens” shouldn’t be covered. You know he’s just catering to the CRAZY RIGHT extremists that vote him in. What MN needs is the MN Health Plan. Single Payer, Universal Health Care. John Marty is the Chief author of this plan and we as feminists should work hard to fight for it. Everyone would have access to affordable health care under this plan INCLUDING undocumented workers who contribute greatly to our state. Please consider joining the people powered movement and making MN the model for the rest of the country!
