Representative Bachmann to hold another town hall

Oh wait. It turns out that her tele-townhall was in fact sponsored by the anti-choice organization, Susan B. Anthony’s List. Here’s a quote from Representative Bachmann via the MN Independent:
“Everything that all of us have worked together and labored for over the years, all of it could be undermined with this one bill. President Obama realizes that. The radicals that are on the pro-abortion left, they realize that. They could win it all. And the unborn, and the vulnerable, the disabled and those at the end of life could lose it all.”
Sigh. It’s truly sad that the health care debate continues to center around misleading scare tactics about “death panels” and “tax payer funded abortions” (that have thoroughly been debunked). Unfortunately, Representative Bachmann is caught up in this anti-choice strategy, and is unwilling to address a huge group of her constituents struggling to receive basic care.
Planned Parenthood’s St. Cloud Clinic is in Representative Bachman’s 6th district. Two-thirds of the patients Planned Parenthood sees in St. Cloud are living in poverty. Nearly half of Planned Parenthood St. Cloud's patients are under/uninsured. These women are counting on health care reform that will prioritize their health and ensure comprehensive reproductive health care, regardless of income. Women’s health matters—- rather than engaging in scare tactics and efforts to bring down health care reform, I hope Representative Bachmann will address the real needs and health concerns of women in her district. That would be a win for everyone!!
